The room smelled horrible, like old laundry and toilet. There was only so much of the smell that Jo Harvelle could take. Dragging herself out of her bed, she trudged over to the table where her douffle bag was. She dug through her bag, searching for her spray perfume. Finally, she had found it. She took the cap off and sprayed the perfume all over the room. She made sure that she got everything because she was afraid that if she could smell the horrid smell anymore she might throw up. When she was finished, she stood back and smelled the room proudly. Now it smelt like 'sensual amber'. She smiled and put the perfume back into her bag.
After zipping up her bag, she jumped on her bed. She sighed as she layed there, looking up at the ceiling. She then looked around at the mess that she had created. Newspaper clippings and computer print-outs were scattered in an organized mess. She took a deep breath and then looked back up at the ceiling. She couldn't help be feel lonely, something she had been feeling lately. Ever since she had left the Roadhouse, sure she had had a few friends here and there, but most of the time she was alone. She rolled over on her side and shut her eyes, gripping one of the many pillows she had tightly. In her bed, she felt safe and warm, something she hadn't felt for awhile.
Jo's eyes flew open at the sound of someone moving outside her room. Since she was only wearing a tank-top and pajama shorts, she really didn't want to go outside. Then, there was a knock at her door. She sat up and then turned to the door. She slowly crawled out of the bed and walked over to the door. Once she reached the door, to her disgust, there was no peak hole, which she made a mental note to have to complain about tomorrow. She opened the door a crack and didn't look out, she just spoke loud enough so that whoever it was could hear her, plus in her other hand was the shotgun she kept behind the door, just in case. "Hello?"

And I don't want the world to see me Cause I don't think that they'd understand Hearing the alarm on her phone go off, Summer woke with a start. She was still almost fully dressed, in everything except her coat, which was thrown over a hanger, and her italian leather boots, which she had chucked onto the floor beside her sports bag. She let out a small sigh, before crawling across the bed towards her phone. She picked it up with an outstretched hand and quickly pressed the snooze button. Propping up a pillow against the wall and laying down once more, this time leaning on the pillow instead of being curled up in the center of the bed, she suddenly heard a noise coming from somewhere outside her room. From what she could hear, it sounded like the shuffling of feet. Just then, a thought came to her. When she arrived last night, she hadn't seen, or heard for that matter, anyone other than herself and the lady at the counter. She shrugged it off and figured that they must have either just arrived, or arrived while she was asleep. Closing her eyes briefly, she decided she might as well go and see who else was staying at the motel. Maybe it was someone she knew, maybe not. Whatever.
Slowly pushing herself up, Summer sat up on her bad. The matress was quite hard, but still fairly comfertable. Swining her legs over the side of the beg, she stood up straight, observing her surroundings, her new home. She trudged over to her boots and leaning over them, pulled on one. Then, rising to her full height, she stretched out her arms and let out a long yawn. Once she had finished, she bent back over and pulled on the other boot. Then, straightneing herself out, she was about to walk out the door when her upbringing suddenly kicked in. She slowly took her hand off the door handle and rushed into the bathroom. Orbs searched frantically for amirror and within seconds she had found and managed to rush over to one. It was only small, but she managed to fit her head within its wooden frame nicely enough, while still standing close enough to be able to see those faded laugh lines. Taking out the compact set from her handbag, hanging loosely on her shoulder, she quickly and efficiently applied some makeup. Not a lot, but just enough to make her look... perfect. Placing her belongings back in her bag, she sighed lightly, smiling at her reflection in the mirror. Walking over to the door, she placed her hand on the knob and took a deep breath. She was finally ready to face the world once more.
Slowly turning the door, she pushed it open. She stepped outside and looked down the corridor. There was nobody there. She just stood there a confused look on her face. She was about to walk over to the lady at the counter, the one she had met the previous night and ask whether there was anyone else staying at the motel, when she suddenly heard another sound. She stood absolutely still, listening carefully. From what she could hear, the noises were coming from the room next to hers. She walked up to the door and listened first, hoping to get an idea of who lived there. Reluctantly, she knocked softly on the door, so that if whoever inside was sleeping, they would not be woken. She waited for a reply, but none came. She started to turn and walk back into her own room, when she heard the soft shuffling of feet coming from inside the room. She turned back to face the door, knocking once again, this time a little harder than before. The door opened slightly and Summer hoped that whoever was behind it didn't kill first and ask questions later. Then came a voice. At first it just sounded like anyones voice, holding no meaning to the californian babe at all. Then she recognised it as that of Jo... what was her last name? Harvelle! That's it, Jo Harvelle. Looking for the right words, Summer resorted to a rather simple greeting, not knowing what else to say. Hello, Jo? It's me Summer.. Her voice trailed off slightly when she realised that the hunter might not remember her. She hoped she would, afterall, what better time to catch up. Also, Summer was feeling rather alone in this new town, having only arrived a day or so ago and she really could use a friend. She just stood there, clutching her bag tightly as she waited for the lass to reply. When everything's made to be broken I just want you to know who I am ooc: Finished! song: Iris - Goo Goo Dolls Word Count: 763 words
